One man has been detained following an hours-long standoff in the Georgetown Area of Washington DC. Barricading himself in an office, allegedly with a firearm, the currently unnamed man was allegedly mental ill.

SWAT tactical units were present and closed off a four-block radius from the building, citing safety concerns in case of any explosive devices.

Despite a tense situation and hundreds of heavily armed units, the situation ended peacefully. The man has not been charged with any crimes and will first undergo a mental evaluation.

Lt. Alan Hill, who made headlines earlier this year for allegedly defrauding the Washington D.C. school system, acted as the “Incident Commander” during the standoff.
