Masked fascists with white nationalist group Patriot Front were escorted by Metropolitan Police today throughout the National Mall in Washington DC on Saturday.
The group generally shows up unannounced to other groups’ protests or holds their own without seeking permits in an attempt to avoid press or counter-protesters.
Meanwhile, they tend to film themselves so that they can release their own constructed narratives of the events they show up at.
News2Share contributor TJ Jones managed to capture a portion of the group’s parade through the city today, where about 100 carried shields and American flags, some of which were warped to include the fasces in the place of stars.
The march was likely Saturday because the white nationalist “White Lives Matter” movement calls the 2nd Saturday of each month a “day of action.”
It lined up with National Police Week event in DC, so officers commemorating their own event watched as the fascist group marched by them with an escort from on-duty officers.
Patriot Front concluded its police-escorted parade by entering the Judiciary Square Metro Station.
Police formed a line of bikes to block off the area and give exclusive access to the metro station to the Patriot Front group.
The masked men cheered as they entered the station, which officers continued to block off, presumably until the group was on a train.
Ahead of being escorted into the Judiciary Square Metro by police, the Patriot Front people loaded their shields and flags into what appears to be two rented U-Haul vehicles.
In their first two marches in DC, the group actually transported themselves in rented vehicles like this.
In their third march (alongside March for Life) they did the same thing as here – loading their stuff into rental vehicles and then being exclusive entrance into the subway by police.
