Police declared a “nuisance” and unlawful assembly Thursday night as protesters banged pots and pans and shook barricades outside the Graduate by Hilton, a hotel in Minneapolis reportedly housing ICE agents.
“You are are hereby ordered to disperse” police announced to the protesters, who largely ran away from the hotel, as additional officers in riot gear arrived along with an armored vehicle.
“The police department has declared this assembly a public nuisance!”
One man was told he’s being detained for unlawful assemble.
“I was leaving” he said before being grabbed.
“One sec, I work for Hennepin County,” he told the State Police, who replied, “you’re good, just get out of here.”
“F*** you Nazis!” he said after being let go.
Officers arrested multiple protesters, apparently accused of failing to disperse when ordered to do so, as they pushed press and others further from the Graduate by Hilton where ICE agents are reportedly staying.
Officers sprinted into and past some of the remaining crowd, provoking most of them to leave.
A handful of protesters remained at the frontline, mocking and yelling at the police.
Police finally announced a final command to leave, and when the last few didn’t, said “At this time, you are all under arrest.”
“Let’s go man, let’s leave, let’s run,” one activist said, and the remainder left the scene.
There were no further arrests.
