Trump supporters returned to the Capitol this afternoon – the four year anniversary – to lay flowers and American flags in commemoration of their casualties on January 6, 2021.
“Ashli Babbitt!” they chanted as a handful of people counter-protested.
“What do we wanna do? Hang out! When do we wanna do it? January 6,” chanted a satirical group holding a “Big group hangout” event outside the Capitol.
“Where do we want to do it? The Capitol building!”
A couple anti-Trump activists stood outside the Capitol with signs advocating that Congress invoke the 14th Amendment’s Section 3 to block Trump as an insurrectionist.
“I had no actual hopes for the 14th Amendment to be involved today, but I’m here to still petition Congress to invoke the 14th Amendment,” one described.
Indeed, not a single member of Congress objected to Trump’s certification.

2024 DC City Council candidate Patricia Eguino showed up to yell “Domestic terrorists!” at the Trump supporters.
A man swiped down her bullhorn as she yelled “Ashli Babbitt was a filthy traitor!”
Police stepped in, and followed as both sides walked away.
DC Jail Vigil
“Today is Ashli Babbitt day, let’s say her name!”
“Ashli Babbitt! Ashli Babbitt!” chanted January 6 defendant supporters outside the DC Jail on Monday night, the four year anniversary of the Capitol riot.
“Traitors!” yelled counter-protesters from across the street.
Micki Witthoeft called into the rally, unable to travel due to snowfall. “I could not be prouder of you guys,” she told them.
“Thank you for showing up to lay flowers and thank you for always being the strong, amazing people that you are.”
The activists brought a signed petition for Trump to pardon all January 6 defendants on day 1 of his presidency.
Robert Morss, serving 66 months in prison for J6, called into the rally. He called the event a “lobster trap designed to bring down Donald Trump and the Make America Great Again Movement as a whole.”
“January 6 was not a final nail in a coffin of a constitutional republic. It was a day where an American phoenix began to ruse from its ashes,” he said.
