Trump supporters showed up for a pro-ICE rally outside the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark Saturday morning.
“We love ICE!” they chanted.
Originally put into one free speech zone, officers in riot gear cleared them and anti-ICE protesters out into two rival zones.
While the original free speech zone for ICE supporters was cleared to move them to a new spot, some pro-Trump flags were left behind in front of the ICE agents.
Pro and anti-ICE protesters yelled and argued across the barricades.
“Stop ICE Gestapo with communist revolution!” chanted protesters.
“The only thing that makes me feel safe, the only thing that makes me feel that even if they take me, the only thing that I know that is gonna defend me is fighting for a future without capitalism,” one said.
Members of the Proud Boys marched to Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, joining forces with other pro-ICE protesters.
Anti-ICE protesters verbally confronted them on the way in.
Proud Boys condemned illegal immigration and called conditions at Delaney Hall “for what they did, as good as they’re gonna be treated” and a “deterrent.”
“Our club is heavily infiltrated, heavily,” a Proud Boy explained to News2Share.
He says this has been less of a problem in Trump’s second term, but “there’s still infiltration.”
Anti-ICE protesters continued arguing with Proud Boys as they departed from the rally zone.
“These aren’t antifa, these are kids dressed up trying to relive the after-effects of what antifa used to be,” one Proud Boy told me. “Actually, I’m disappointed.”
“You guys got nothing to worry about, just a bunch of f****t slack-jawed communists over there,” a Proud Boy spoke to police before coordinating with him about their exit.
Some anti-ICE protesters asked those that followed the Proud Boys this far to pull back.
