Colombian citizens clashed with police Friday night in Bogota marking one month of resistance against new tax hikes that they say would disproportionately affect the working class.

Officers deployed riot munitions against the crowd, who deployed fireworks, bricks, and molotov cocktails.

Four civilians were confirmed dead, bringing the government-confirmed total to seventeen fatalities, although human rights groups say there may be dozens more.

Ahead of clashing with the police that occurred later at night, hundreds of Colombians marched Friday afternoon in Bogota to celebrate the one month anniversary.
