Tens of thousands of National Guard soldiers and law enforcement including 200 NYPD officers patrolled the streets of Washington Wednesday as the inauguration of President Joe Biden took place.
Biden himself had discouraged travel to the event, which had extremely limited attendance. Hundreds of his supporters gathered throughout the city, and there were no significant clashes or tensions.
