Hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the White House to protest Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan during his visit with US President Donald Trump Wednesday afternoon.
The protesters say Erdogan is a proponent of fascist Islamic extremism in the region and responsible for the slaughter of Christians and Kurds, among others.
Brief violence occurred when an Erdogan supporter showed up, causing police to forcefully push protesters back. No arrests were made.
Activists tore apart, stomped and spit on posters of Erdogan, portraying him as a terrorist leader.
