More than 150,000 people gathered across Washington, D.C. this past Saturday to celebrate the 40th annual Capital Pride Parade.

The festivities honored recent breakthroughs throughout the queer community as federal debates over same-sex marriage continue.

Lead by the U.S. armed forces and Boy Scouts troops of America, a contingent of 170 floats and entertainers trekked from Dupont Circle to the 14th street corridor.

Despite the 90 degree people, attendees young and old appeared good spirits throughout the day.
