Following the decision not to indict the police officer involved in the chokehold death of Eric Garner in New York, protesters to the street late Thursday night in Washington DC. Shutting down major roadways, the protesters made a significant impact on traffic in the area while remaining peaceful. No arrests were made.

While marching through the streets for Eric Garner, many DC protesters Thursday night entered the Grand Hyatt Hotel in order to chant in the lobby. Their chants caught the attention of several people in the building, with many sighted taking photos from their windows. The protesters stayed for three minutes before police arrived.
