Submitted by Sarah Soliman, this video taken from a high angle is able to demonstrate the sheer size of the crowd on yesterday’s Palestinian march on Washington. Estimates had it that between 10,000 and 30,000 people participated, and this video certainly lends legitimacy to that claim.

Sarah told me:
I attended this protest as a part of GMU Students Against Israeli Apartheid, and the collective DMV SJP, in order to condemn the egregious crimes and human rights violations committed by Israel towards the Palestinian people in alarming disproportionality.
As a member of GMU SAIA, as an Egyptian-American, I choose to stand on the side of justice with the oppressed (Palestinians), and against the oppressors and implementors of apartheid (Israel). This is a matter of fact and morality, where there is a clear line between who is doing the oppressing and who is the oppressed. This rally serves to bring attention to this issue and to call for support and solidarity for Palestine, as well as an end to the atrocious apartheid policies and crimes of Israel. Also might I add that not only did I see Palestinian flags, but also a plethora of Free Syrian Flags, Iraqi Flags, Turkish Flags and Egyptian Flags. This shows the vast nuances of diverse solidarity for Palestine. Its important to remember that “in a genuine struggle for liberation, there is no room for double standards and selective indignation.” When one country or people calls for help, you help, regardless of what country or circumstances you hail from.
