Protesters gathered Friday night at the Kennedy Center, decrying President Trump’s plans to put his name on the building or potentially demolish it.

“Take it down” the crowd chanted at the covering over the building’s name, up since a court ordered Trump not to have his own name on it.

One speaker called it a “struggle of self-defense! Trump came here to conquer us, to conquer Washington, to conquer The Kennedy Center, and conquer culture.”

“We will defend ourselves!” he said, before protesters linked arms and surrounded the building to symbolically protect it from the president.

Linda Carter, TV’s Wonder Woman, spoke out Friday night in front of the Kennedy Center against President Trump’s efforts to rename it for himself or potentially demolish it.

“Music and the arts is how we actually survive,” Carter says. “No one can silence us!”
