Hundreds of armed members of the “Not F***ing Around Coalition” (NFAC) marched Saturday afternoon in Lafayette, Louisiana to protest threats directed at them by U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins on Facebook, and the police shooting of Lafayette man Trayford Pellerin.

Congressman Higgins had previously threatened in a Facebook post to “drop any 10 of you where you stand” attached to images of the NFAC.

Trayford Pellerin was shot in August by police in Lafayette, Louisiana. Police claimed that they had attempted unsuccessfully to use tasers to apprehend the man, who they say was armed with a knife following a disturbance report.

Throughout the afternoon, NFAC members gathered at Lafayette Public Library’s parking lot. The group remained unarmed until only a few minutes before the march.

The march route was signified with barricades, which would lead the NFAC from the library to Parc Sans Souci, where a rally would take place a few blocks away.

As the NFAC was just beginning to march, two shots rang out at the Parc Sans Souci.

The two shots were reportedly accidentally fired by an activist who was not a part of the NFAC formation.

26-year-old Terrance Jones of Lafayette was immediately arrested and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm at a parade or demonstration, and felon in possession of a firearm. In a later video, NFAC leader John Fitzgerald “Grandmaster Jay” Johnson confirmed that the individual charged in that shooting was not part of the NFAC.

When the shooting occurred, a few members of the NFAC declared “action up ahead” and moved forward, but they were called to retreat back. “Grandmaster Jay” told the group to wait as he spoke to law enforcement, who eventually allowed the march to continue without further incident to the rally point.

At Parc Sans Souci, “Grandmaster Jay” led a rally. During his speech, he addressed Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan and went through every American era describing how “It ain’t never been great for Black people in this country.”

See uncut footage of the rally speeches below:

Grandmaster Jay told his group that they don’t stay out after sun-down, so they wrapped their participation in the rally as the sun set. Other activists including some self-proclaimed Black Panthers and the NAACP also remained gathered at the park.

As the sun set, the NFAC marched back to the library. Before returning to their vehicles, the group pledged with their guns raised in the air: “I [name] will never allow the murder of another Black person, whether it be by white people or Black people! I am not fucking around any goddamn more! I am the NFC! Black power! Black people! Black man! Black woman! Black child! Black Nation!”
