Members of the socialist feminist group Radical Women gathered Sunday to commemorate the 95th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the 70th birthday of member and eco-socialist advocate Christine Browning.

Mistress of ceremonies Yuisa Gimeno praised civil rights activist Frederick Douglass and the end of slavery in 1865 for paving the way toward women’s rights. Gimeno celebrated Browning’s three decades of activism. Browning says that women can not truly be equal until capitalism is abolished.
