Following the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State in 2011, the university was given a number of different sanctions by the NCAA. Included in these sanctions was a fine of $60 million, a four-year postseason ban and vacating of all victories from 1998–2011.
Today, the ban on postseason games was lifted. Students and players reacted positively to this news after years of controversy surrounding the ban. Many players and fans of Penn State felt the sanctions were unfair because they centered around one person, but affected the entire community.
This video depicts the scene at Pennsylvania State College following the ban being lifted. Students gather in the streets to show their support for the team and the university. The rallies lasted for a number of hours and were attended by thousands of people.
